J.C. AutoDraw stands at the volatile intersection of automatic drawing, visceral oil painting, and the deep temporalities of East Asian calligraphic tradition. The practice begins exactly where conscious control surrenders: lines are liberated before logic can intervene, then met by a deliberate, almost surgical, painterly construction — a sustained negotiation between raw instinct and architectural structure.

This tension is the subject as much as the method. In ongoing series such as Self Merging (2024– ), the work traces the dissolution of bodily boundaries and the self's endless return to itself — figures that merge, shed form, and reconstitute across canvas after canvas. Where East Asian "bone" meets Western "flesh", each painting becomes a phase within an evolving visual language, not a conclusion but a continuation.

J.C. AutoDraw has exhibited internationally, including the Tokyo International Art Fair (2025), Parallax Art Fair, London (2019), and the RSA Open Exhibition, Edinburgh (2017).
